Exchange-Traded Funds Lower as US Equities Decline After Midday

US equity indexes were in meltdown after midday Thursday, with the Nasdaq Composite plunging into correction territory amid a rout in mega-cap chipmakers. Energy IShares US Energy ETF (IYE) fell 0.9% and the State Street Energy Select Sector SPDR (XLE) lost 0.76%. Technology The State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLK) was down 7.5%; iShares US Technology ETF (IYW) lost 6.6%, and iShares Expanded Tech Sector ETF (IGM) was 7% lower. The State Street SPDR S&P Semiconductor (XSD) declined 11.1%, and iShares Semiconductor (SOXX) was down 11.3%. Financial The State Street Financial Select Sector SPDR (XLF) fell 2.7%.
