Reuters, November 6 - Bloomberg reported on Friday, citing people familiar with the matter, that Microsoft (MSFT.O) is gradually ending its agreement with Oracle (ORCL.N) regarding the leasing of artificial intelligence computing resources. This move is part of a comprehensive reassessment of the company's multi-billion dollar cloud partnership.
In midday trading, Oracle's share price fell by nearly 3%, while Microsoft's stock was little changed.
According to reports, after refusing to renew the contract, Microsoft has gradually stopped using the computing power leased from Oracle over the past few months.
The report added that, over time, the computing power leased by Microsoft no longer met the company's evolving needs, and therefore its value has gradually diminished.
Neither Microsoft nor Oracle immediately responded to Reuters' requests for comment.
