  • TOTAL2 has exited an 18-month accumulation range, signaling renewed interest in the broader altcoin market.
  • Large-cap and mid-cap projects are attracting attention as investors monitor capital rotation beyond Bitcoin.
  • WIF, HBAR, BNB, ALGO, and QUBIC represent different sectors of the crypto market entering Altseason 2026.

After a significant change for the leading chart tracking the market cap of all cryptocurrencies excluding Bitcoin, TOTAL2, the market has returned to the spotlight. Investor sentiment has been cited as a reason for the market to have finished an 18-month building phase, which is historically followed by better activity in other digital assets. Although Bitcoin remains the king, the recent market dynamics have indicated that funds are slowly shifting towards some altcoins.

The same has happened in the past, as periods of buying tend to be followed by more widespread investor participation as they try to gain exposure to other segments of the blockchain. Consequently, a focus has turned to projects that interweave proven existing ecosystems, active development, and increasing activity in the network. As Altseason 2026 is fast approaching, a few names are gaining traction in the digital asset market, such as Dogwifhat (WIF), Hedera (HBAR), BNB, Algorand (ALGO), and Qubic (QUBIC).

Dogwifhat and Hedera Reflect Different Market Themes

The token became popular due to its community engagement efforts and high trading volume. Memes tend to be more volatile, but they still command a great deal of interest when there is more speculation in the markets.

Hedera’s journey is different. The network has a distributed ledger technology adoption and enterprise concentration. The project’s structure, with a governing council, and the fact that it is scalable, have set it apart from many traditional blockchain platforms.

BNB and Algorand Maintain Established Positions

BNB still has one of the highest market cap digital assets. The token is a key component of the overall BNB ecosystem and is used in a variety of blockchain applications, such as facilitating digital asset transfers and decentralized finance. It has a user base and has been able to remain relevant to the market across multiple cycles.

Algorand continues to focus on efficiency, security, and scalability. The project has been seeking collaborations with both the public and private sectors, and encouraging smaller transactions. ALGO has been among the projects being tracked by investors to gain exposure to layer-one blockchain infrastructure, thanks to recent developments.

Qubic Gains Visibility as Altseason Expectations Rise

With its decentralized computing and AI applications, Qubic has gained increased prominence. The project is a newer kind in the cryptocurrency area, and also, infrastructure and computational resources are becoming increasingly vital.

However, it is unclear if Altseason 2026 will fully materialize, but there are some projects that are gaining more focus as the market moves on to the next phase, including WIF, HBAR, BNB, ALGO, and QUBIC.

Democrats to destroy the data center boom? Goldman Sachs bucks the trend with an upgrade forecast!

Goldman Sachs has raised its forecast for US data center construction spending against the trend, increasing the 2026 projection from $67 billion to $80 billion and, for the first time, projecting $125 billion for 2028. Despite the market panic caused by Texas's moratorium, Goldman Sachs believes this is essentially a delay rather than a termination, and the overall construction cycle remains resilient. However, highly leveraged developers face substantial risks from rising financing costs and contract cancellations.

Microsoft tightens AI computing power rentals! Reportedly gradually withdrawing from Oracle Cloud agreement, "new cloud" CoreWeave plunges

According to reports on Friday, Microsoft has gradually closed down its rented computing resources from Oracle in recent months because Oracle's servers are equipped with older-generation Nvidia chips, which do not meet Microsoft's technical specifications. Oracle's stock price turned negative, at one point dropping more than 5%. Oracle emphasized that demand for AI infrastructure remains strong, including demand for earlier-generation GPUs. On Thursday, it was reported that Microsoft is reconsidering its "New Cloud" partnership due to delivery delays and high costs.
