$GRVT World Liberty Financial is going shopping, and the item on the list is its own token. The Trump family-linked DeFi project will introduce a program to repurchase $WLFI, its governance token. How the new buyback is supposed to work The program was unveiled on November 6, 2026, according to the research findings. It will be funded by initial allocations from several sources. One of those sources stands out: fees from the reserves backing $USD1, World Liberty’s stablecoin. Put simply, the money behind the dollar token helps generate income, and some of that income will now flow toward buying $WLFI. The stated goals go beyond the usual tokenomics. The project says the buyback should encourage active participation in governance and concentrate voting power among committed, long-term holders. The mechanism is fairly intuitive. When the protocol buys tokens from holders who want out, those tokens leave circulation. Holders who stay end up with a larger relative share of the voting pie. World Liberty is positioning this as a long-term, ongoing effort rather than a one-off. Its scale and pace are expected to adjust as the $WLFI ecosystem grows, and the program is described as scalable based on how the protocol performs overall. The project also frames the buyback as a way to reward long-term stakeholders, not to fuel short-term trading. Buyback activity is set to be reported publicly, part of the transparency mechanisms the initiative is built on. A sequel to a vote that was barely a contest This is not World Liberty’s first buyback. In September 2025, a governance proposal sought to redirect 100% of fees collected from protocol-owned liquidity across multiple blockchain networks toward open-market $WLFI purchases. The proposal passed with 99.8% approval. Those earlier buybacks were intended to shrink circulating supply by burning the repurchased tokens. Burning means sending tokens to an address nobody can access, effectively deleting them from the market. The protocol has already put that mandate to work. Multiple buybacks were carried out in late 2025, including one of approximately $10 million that repurchased 59 million $WLFI tokens. The new program appears to broaden that earlier effort. The 2025 mechanism leaned on liquidity fees, while the 2026 version adds revenue generated by the stablecoin’s reserves to the funding mix. What World Liberty actually is $WLFI is the governance token of a decentralized finance project associated with the Trump family. Its main lines of business are lending markets and the $USD1 stablecoin. Governance tokens let holders vote on protocol decisions, such as how fees are spent or which proposals move forward. The September 2025 buyback itself came about through exactly that kind of vote. What this means for holders and the broader market For $WLFI holders, the clearest effect is on supply. A protocol that keeps buying its own token creates recurring demand, and if repurchased tokens are removed, the remaining supply gets tighter over time. The research findings suggest the program may increase token scarcity and could support $WLFI’s value over time. Tying buybacks to stablecoin reserve fees means $WLFI’s demand engine now partly runs on $USD1 adoption. If the stablecoin grows, the buyback budget likely grows with it. If it stalls, the program’s adaptive design suggests the pace would slow too. The transparency commitment will be the test. Public reporting of buyback activity lets anyone check whether purchases match the stated goals and funding sources.

$GRVT World Liberty Financial, the Trump-family backed crypto venture, plans to buy back more of its $WLFI token after a steep price drop that followed the U.S. midterm elections. $WLFI has lost about 10% of its value since Tuesday and more than 66% this year. The latest decline came as Republicans performed worse than expected in the elections. The TRUMP memecoin and Trump Media shares also hit record lows. $WLFI faces a separate headwind too. On the day of the vote, Tron founder Justin Sun said he had asked a federal court to sanction World Liberty in his lawsuit over roughly 4 billion frozen $WLFI tokens. The company said on X that it may use fees earned from reserves backing its USD1 stablecoin, along with other sources, to pay for the purchases. The plan, $WLFI said, is to encourage more active participation in the project’s governance and put more voting power in the hands of committed long-term holders. “We intend for buybacks to be an ongoing part of our long-term strategy with the pace and scale guided by ecosystem growth and impact on governance participation,” the project said. This is not World Liberty's first attempt to support $WLFI through token purchases. In April, the company disclosed $65.6 million in open-market buybacks over the prior six months. $YGG TL;DR TRUMP plunged 22.15% to $1.23, while World Liberty Financial’s WLFI declined 7.22% to $0.04 over the past 24 hours. Democrats secured control of both chambers of Congress, increasing political uncertainty surrounding Trump’s cryptocurrency initiatives. DeFi tokens moved in the opposite direction, with the sector’s index gaining approximately 5% as Bitcoin recovered toward $78,300. The Official Trump (TRUMP) token and World Liberty Financial’s WLFI faced significant selling pressure on November 4 after Democrats won control of both chambers of the US Congress in the midterm elections. The political shift weighed on Trump-associated digital assets, while decentralized finance (DeFi) cryptocurrencies recorded stronger performances across the broader market. According to current market data, TRUMP trades at $1.23, down 22.15% over 24 hours. Meanwhile, WLFI fell 7.22% to $0.04.   TRUMP and WLFI Face Political Pressure After Democratic Victory The Democratic victory represents a major setback for President Donald Trump’s legislative agenda. By taking control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate, Democrats gain greater influence over congressional investigations, legislative priorities and regulatory discussions during the remaining two years of Trump’s presidency. For the cryptocurrency sector, the result introduces uncertainty around initiatives that received political support from the Republican-controlled Congress. Trump’s connections to digital asset businesses have also attracted attention, making associated tokens particularly sensitive to changes in political sentiment. However, the sell-off does not necessarily reflect a deterioration in the underlying technology or broader cryptocurrency adoption. TRUMP operates primarily as a political meme coin, with demand closely linked to public attention and speculative activity. WLFI, on the other hand, is connected to a financial ecosystem that includes decentralized finance products and its USD1 stablecoin. These differences mean both assets face distinct challenges, even when political developments influence their short-term performance. DeFi Tokens Gain Ground as Bitcoin Recovers While Trump-linked cryptocurrencies struggled, decentralized finance assets moved higher. CoinDesk reported that its DeFi Select Index advanced approximately 5% on November 4, with Injective and Ethena among the leading performers. Injective gained approximately 6.2%, while other digital assets, including Morpho, also recorded positive movements. The broader CoinDesk 80 Index climbed 2.3%, reflecting improving conditions across several segments of the altcoin market. Bitcoin also recovered after briefly approaching $75,600, returning toward $78,300 during Wednesday’s trading session. Ethereum gained approximately 2%, adding support to the wider market rebound. The divergence suggests that investors are reallocating capital toward different cryptocurrency sectors rather than abandoning digital assets altogether. DeFi protocols continue to attract attention through financial infrastructure, decentralized trading and blockchain-based services.

$GRVT TL;DR: Sanctions request: Justin Sun seeks $263,821.20 from World Liberty Financial and its lawyers, alleging a misleading ownership disclosure in a dispute over his $45 million WLFI investment. Ownership filing: World Liberty first listed Florida as its only citizenship, then amended to name 22 individuals and entities, including UAE parties, six days after a judge questioned arbitration. Next steps: Sun plans to refile in California state court after the sanctions motion is resolved, with a hearing set for Dec. 10. Tron founder Justin Sun wants $263,821.20 in sanctions from World Liberty Financial and its legal team, saying the Trump family-linked crypto firm gave the court a misleading ownership disclosure in a fight over his $45 million WLFI token investment. Ownership Disclosure At Center Of Filing In a federal court filing, Justin Sun and two co-plaintiffs said World Liberty first told the court Florida was its only citizenship. Nearly three months later, the company amended that filing to list 22 individuals and entities in its ownership chain, including parties in the United Arab Emirates. “World Liberty presumably always knew who its owners were,” Justin Sun said. “When we asked how this happened, World Liberty refused to tell us.” The amended disclosure arrived six days after a federal judge raised questions about World Liberty’s request to push Justin Sun’s claims into arbitration. World Liberty’s lawyers then said the UAE citizenship removed federal court jurisdiction because foreign parties sat on both sides of the case. In April, Justin Sun sued World Liberty, alleging fraud and unlawful freezing of his tokens. World Liberty answered with a defamation suit in May, claiming false statements and token-sale violations. He denied those allegations. Prior Deal And New Court Plans The dispute follows a January 2025 agreement in which an Abu Dhabi-backed investment vehicle agreed to buy a 49% stake in World Liberty for $500 million. Justin Sun had backed the Trump family’s crypto projects, investing in World Liberty and buying President Donald Trump’s TRUMP memecoin. He topped the token’s leaderboard for a May 2025 Trump dinner, with holdings near $18.5 million. In an Aug. 26 email in court exhibits, World Liberty lawyer Sam Cleveland said his team had “recently” learned of more citizenship details. He said World Liberty already had UAE citizenship when Justin Sun filed suit in April. Justin Sun’s lawyers sought corporate records and testimony about the ownership and when the lawyers learned of the UAE link. They claim World Liberty gave limited documents but did not explain why the first disclosure left that information out. Attorney Edward Moss said in a declaration that the $263,821.20 request covers fees for four attorneys who opposed arbitration. It excludes other fees and costs for jurisdictional discovery and the sanctions motion. Justin Sun said Tuesday he plans to refile in California state court once the sanctions motion is resolved. A hearing is set for Dec. 10.
