About Tezos (XTZ)

What is Tezos (XTZ)?

Tezos is a blockchain network that operates on smart contracts, much like Ethereum. The primary distinction between the two is that Tezos strives to provide more advanced infrastructure that can evolve and enhance over time without the risk of a hard fork. This is unlike Bitcoin and Ethereum, which have both experienced this issue since their creation. XTZ holders have the ability to vote on Tezos developers' protocol upgrade proposals.

Tezos is a secure and upgradable open-source platform that boasts a smart contract language capable of handling high-value use cases. Its design allows it to remain state-of-the-art for years to come and embrace advances in blockchain technology. The initial white paper for Tezos was published in September of 2014 and, despite several setbacks, the network officially launched four years later.

Who are the Founders of Tezos (XTZ)?

The original author of the Tezos white paper is Arthur Breitman. Interestingly enough, he used the pen name L. M. Goodman, similar to Satoshi Nakamoto. Breitman believed that Bitcoin's lack of a governance process hindered contributions from the community and prevented new tokens from being issued through the blockchain. To address these issues, he founded a startup called Dynamic Ledger Solutions with his wife Kathleen, which was eventually acquired by the Tezos Foundation to secure intellectual property rights of the network.

What Makes Tezos (XTZ) Unique?

The way Tezos involves its participants in the governance process is quite unique. Instead of traditional staking, users can participate in “baking” by staking 8,000 XTZ, which provides a financial incentive to act honestly. Bakers then vote on proposed changes to the blockchain's code in a four-step procedure that takes about 23 days. Proposals that receive support from the majority of participants are tested on a testnet for 48 hours and are implemented if they are backed by a super-majority. Tezos is also gaining popularity among high-profile businesses. For instance, the French banking giant Societe Generale announced plans to use Tezos for experimenting with a central bank digital currency.

What is the XTZ Token?

Tezos' native token, XTZ, serves multiple purposes on the blockchain. It can be used to access decentralized applications, pay transaction fees, stake for network security, and acts as a fundamental accounting unit on the Tezos platform.

How is the Tezos Network Secured?

Tezos, like many blockchains, utilizes a proof-of-stake consensus mechanism. Validators can participate in maintaining the network's integrity by making a security deposit. Those who act in the best interests of the blockchain are rewarded, while those who act dishonestly risk losing their stake. This incentivizes honest behavior and helps ensure the smooth running of the network.

$GRVT If we want users to stop thinking about the layers, should they need to think about the chain? One of the goals we often discuss in the Tezos ecosystem is making the experience of using it as seamless as possible. Ideally, users shouldn’t have to understand whether an application runs on Tezos Layer 1 or Etherlink, whether the app they are using was written in Michelson or Solidity, or which execution environment is handling their transaction. They should simply be able to use it, without worrying about the infrastructure underneath. But this raises an interesting question. If we agree that users shouldn’t need to know which part of Tezos they’re interacting with, why should they need to know they’re using Tezos at all? Would we be happy if millions of people used applications powered by Tezos without ever knowing it? It’s an uncomfortable question for those of us who have spent years supporting the ecosystem and trying to bring more people into it. We want people to recognize what Tezos offers, and we want the ecosystem to grow. But perhaps we should also consider whether successful adoption might eventually mean that users no longer need to think about the blockchain powering the applications they use. The Technology Should Serve the User Anyone familiar with crypto has probably gotten used to the extra steps involved in using blockchain applications, like setting up a wallet or figuring out which network to connect to. These things might seem straightforward once you’ve done them a few times, but they can be a real barrier for someone who simply wants to use an application. Imagine someone discovering a game they want to play. They shouldn’t need to learn about blockchains or figure out which network the game uses before they can get started. Their interest is in the game itself, and the technology should enable that experience instead of complicating it. There’s a difference between knowing what you’re doing and knowing how everything works underneath. Users should always be clear on what they’re agreeing to, particularly when their assets are involved, but that doesn’t mean they need a lesson in the systems behind it. The real question is how much of that complexity we can remove without losing what makes blockchains valuable in the first place. Following the Internet’s Example The internet offers a useful comparison. Most people send emails, shop online, and stream videos without ever thinking about the protocols that make it all possible. They simply expect things to work, and most of the time they do. Tezos could move in a similar direction, with one important difference. Its value comes from letting people verify transactions and truly own their assets without relying entirely on a central authority, so making apps easier shouldn’t cost users those guarantees. That could mean signing up with just an email, seeing approvals written in plain language, and having a link that shows exactly what happened on-chain for anyone who wants to check. The goal shouldn’t be to hide the technology or make it impossible to discover, but to keep the details invisible by default and still there for anyone who looks. Adoption vs. Recognition For many of us, it matters that people know Tezos is behind the apps they use. Recognition can bring new developers into the ecosystem, encourage people to explore other projects, and help build a stronger community. After years of effort, seeing Tezos get credit for what it enables is something worth celebrating. But imagine an application built on Tezos becoming hugely successful, reaching millions of people who use it regularly without knowing which blockchain powers it. Would that be a problem? I get the argument that we’d be missing a chance to introduce those users to Tezos. If they never learn the name, they might never explore the wider ecosystem or contribute to its growth. At the same time, I wonder whether we sometimes place too much importance on users recognizing the underlying blockchain for adoption to count. If an application succeeds because it offers something people genuinely want, and Tezos provides the infrastructure that makes it possible, that has value in its own right. We should want applications that introduce people directly to Tezos, but we should also welcome those that use the technology in the background to reach audiences who might never otherwise have considered blockchain. Where I Stand To be clear, I’m not suggesting that we should stop promoting Tezos and expect people to discover it on their own. We’re not at that point, and we still need to raise awareness, attract developers, and explain what’s being built. I’ll keep doing my part to support the ecosystem because I believe in Tezos and want to see it reach more people. But I can believe all of that while also being perfectly comfortable with a future where some successful applications don’t make Tezos a central part of their identity. If a team builds something people love and uses Tezos to power it, I won’t mind if its users never learn what’s running underneath. What matters to me is that the application succeeds and that Tezos technology is being adopted by everyday people. I’ll probably always be interested in what’s happening behind the scenes. I enjoy following protocol upgrades, discussing technical developments, and geeking out over new capabilities, and I hope there will always be people in the community who feel the same way. But our enthusiasm for the technology shouldn’t become an expectation we place on everyone else. Successful adoption probably won’t look like millions of people entering the blockchain space, learning about different networks, and choosing which one to use. It will more likely look like people discovering applications they enjoy and using them every day without giving much thought to what powers them. If Tezos can power such applications, then its technology is adding value to people’s lives, and in my eyes, that’s success. And I hope we get there, even if my non-crypto friends end up using Tezos every day and still have no idea what I do for a living. $XTZ is attempting to break through a strong resistance zone on the 4H chart. 🔥 If buyers manage to push the price above this key level and sustain the breakout, we could see a potential 40–50% upside move. 🎯 Keep an eye on breakout confirmation, trading volume, and a possible retest before making any move. $GRVT Altcoin momentum is being supported by growing attention toward infrastructure and established blockchain networks. Qubic, Celestia, Solana, Tezos, and LayerZero represent different areas of the broader crypto ecosystem. Volume, liquidity, Bitcoin dominance, and resistance retests remain important confirmation signals for any breakout. A potential altcoin breakout is drawing attention as traders monitor whether improving market structure can develop into sustained momentum. This isn't a sector- or market-specific move, as infrastructure, smart-contract networks, and interoperability initiatives continue to be included in the broader market conversation. The group has several stories to play in the crypto ecosystem, as they feature a mix of Qubic, Celestia, Solana, Tezos and LayerZero.  However, a breakout isn't necessarily a sign of a trend, as volume, liquidity, Bitcoin dominance and market conditions can affect the trend's direction. However, if such conditions come together then altcoins may be getting more attention from traders looking for alternative trading prospects from Bitcoin and Ethereum. But the speed and intensity with which the movement may occur remain unclear, however, especially in the case of smaller assets, which can see significant price fluctuations when markets move rapidly. Qubic Brings a Decentralized Computing Focus Qubic has become a company focused on decentralized computing and an architecture geared towards applications that run in a network. It falls in the context of the wider market, and is relevant to issues of computing resources and blockchain infrastructure. The project might be noticed if there is greater demand for decentralized systems, but the level of adoption as well as activity on the network are also key considerations in assessing potential longer term success. Celestia Targets Modular Blockchain Infrastructure Celestia is primarily concerned with modular blockchain architecture that decouples crucial aspects like data availability from the rest of the blockchain processes. This has played a significant role in the implementation of the modular design which is an important element in the development of the modern blockchain. This could continue to be correlated with interest in scalable networks and applications using modular infrastructure. Solana Remains a Major Smart-Contract Network Solana remains a high throughput blockchain to support decentralized applications, DeFi and other on-chain activity. It's also a project with a set-in-stone market profile, compared to smaller projects within this group. With a wider recovery of the altcoins, more capital may flow towards more established Layer-1 projects, which could promote trading interest. Tezos Maintains Its Long-Term Blockchain Role Tezos is a blockchain of smart-contracts developed around the principles of governance, upgrades and decentralized applications. This is because it has been around longer than other blockchain projects. The interest in XTZ could be influenced by the activity of the network, involvement by developers, and the overall demand for popular Layer-1 tokens. LayerZero Connects Different Blockchain Networks The goal of LayerZero is to enable communication across different blockchain networks. As blockchain systems become fragmented and split into various networks, interoperability is still a concern. Due to the expanding cross-chain activity, infrastructure for communication between networks might be more noticed in the market. However, it is adoption that is the most important watching point.
