Cardano hits 667 epochs as ADA price rebounds 4% but faces resistance
Cardano (ADA) is drawing renewed attention after the Cardano Foundation highlighted the ongoing achievements of the network’s Ouroboros protocol. The network, launched in 2017, has now completed 667 epochs, marking a significant milestone for its proof-of-stake infrastructure. Despite the spotlight on this technical accomplishment, the ADA token continues to trade below key resistance levels following a modest recovery in its price.
Ouroboros Milestone and Cardano’s Technical Foundation
The Cardano Foundation, a non-profit organization supporting the development and adoption of the Cardano blockchain, underscored Ouroboros’s role in coordinating transaction validation and maintaining the security of the network. The foundation noted that the protocol’s name, inspired by the ancient symbol of a serpent consuming its own tail, represents an ongoing cycle of epochs, with each epoch spanning five days. Since its inception, Cardano’s Ouroboros consensus mechanism has delivered continuous network operations without interruption.
Ouroboros, named after an ancient symbol of perpetual cycles, has powered Cardano for 667 epochs since 2017, with each epoch lasting five days, underscoring the platform’s consistent proof-of-stake operations.
While the 667-epoch accomplishment demonstrates network stability, the development by itself has not prompted a surge in buying activity for ADA. Analysts state that traders are looking for stronger on-chain engagement and increased market participation before considering this milestone a catalyst for price gains.

ADA Price Action and Technical Barriers
At the time of reporting, ADA is trading at $0.1884, reflecting a 4.15% gain over the past 24 hours. Despite this rebound, the broader trend remains pessimistic, according to technical charts, as the price remains below the key middle Bollinger Band at $0.2030. The daily chart shows recent support appearing near the lower Bollinger Band at $0.1776, with further resistance levels at $0.2181 and $0.2432.
Even with a 4% recovery, ADA remains stuck below its October high of around $0.28 and continues to face resistance just below the $0.2030 mark.
A move above $0.2030 could signal improved short-term momentum and potentially trigger a further push toward higher resistance levels. Conversely, a break below the current support area of $0.1776–$0.1800 could open the door to additional declines.
| Lower Band | $0.1776 (support) |
| Middle Band | $0.2030 (resistance) |
| Higher Resistance | $0.2181 / $0.2432 |
Open Interest Weakens Amid Ongoing Volatility
Data from analytics provider CoinGlass reveals that Cardano’s open interest in the derivatives market fell from approximately $650 million in early October to about $370 million by November 5. This reduction reflects decreasing exposure in outstanding ADA derivatives, partially influenced by the token’s price decline.
Liquidation data indicates several notable swings in both long and short positions, pointing to ongoing volatility but without a clear trend direction. Alongside these changes, Cardano’s total value locked (TVL) in decentralized finance (DeFi) applications dropped from about $73 million in early October to $52 million by early November, according to tracking provider DeFiLlama.
The market’s muted response suggests that investors remain cautious. A decisive move above the middle Bollinger Band would strengthen the short-term bullish case, while a fall through support could lead to further downside.
| Early October | $650 million | $73 million |
| November 5 | $370 million | $52 million |
Cardano’s technical and fundamental backdrop remains mixed. The 667-epoch milestone marks ongoing resilience for the Ouroboros consensus mechanism, while weak derivatives activity and falling DeFi inflows highlight persistent headwinds. Analysts and market watchers continue to monitor both technical levels and investor participation for clearer signs of recovery.

Just bet on AI and already faced a market blow! Berkshire reports earnings tonight, Abel faces a major test in his transformation
Greg Abel has been leading Berkshire Hathaway for less than a year, yet he has already made a bet of over $10.9 billion on the AI sector, marking a complete break from Buffett’s traditional avoidance of tech stocks. However, Alphabet’s stock price has fallen below their initial purchase cost, and Bending Spoons continues to decline, putting this bold AI gamble to the test. At the same time, third-quarter earnings per share are expected to drop 6% year-over-year, and the share repurchase program is likely to plummet from $4.5 billion to $1.6 billion. How to deploy $358 billion in cash will be a major challenge for the new leader’s capital allocation skills.

Has the AI bubble burst? Goldman Sachs: It's more like 1998 than 2000 right now
The Goldman Sachs trading desk stated that the current wave of sell-offs resembles the 1998 liquidity crisis more than the bursting of the 2000 bubble. It is a forced deleveraging rather than a refutation of business fundamentals. The market is drastically repricing construction financing and timeline expectations, rather than underlying demand. Moreover, the issues currently drawing the most attention from the market—electricity and licensing—are actually the least important, as limited supply does not equate to disappearing demand. The real question that needs to be answered is whether long-term revenues can ultimately justify the capital invested.
