Oklo reported Q3 revenue of $1.86 million, beating expectations, with per-share losses also better than anticipated. The company's first Aurora nuclear power plant has begun installation of the main steel structure and completed excavation of the reactor area, and has received preliminary safety analysis approval from the U.S. Department of Energy. Additionally, on Friday, Oklo announced an agreement with U.S. Forged Rings to secure manufacturing capacity for 27 Aurora reactor modules. Oklo shares closed up 23% on Friday.

Nuclear power startup Oklo reported better-than-expected results for Q3, with substantial progress seen in the construction of the Aurora nuclear power plant in Idaho. The main structural steel frame has begun installation, and excavation for the reactor area is complete. The company also received preliminary safety analysis approval from the U.S. Department of Energy and signed a long-term capacity reservation agreement with a manufacturer.

Oklo surged sharply on Friday, rising as much as 25% intraday and finally closing up 23%, marking its largest single-day gain since September 2025. The company's recently released Q3 earnings beat market expectations, and its first advanced Aurora nuclear power plant in Idaho has made significant headway, with construction of the main structure underway.

This rally was also driven by a broader rebound in nuclear power stocks. On Friday, nuclear power-themed stocks generally rose: NuScale Power was up about 15% intraday, while Nano Nuclear Energy gained about 9%. Previously, nuclear and AI-related power stocks had undergone a correction due to market sell-off pressure following the US midterm elections.

Oklo’s financial report released on Friday showed that Q3 revenue reached $1.86 million, above analysts’ estimates of around $1.02 million; diluted earnings per share loss was $0.22, smaller than the expected loss of $0.27. However, the company’s net loss widened to $41.7 million from $29.7 million a year ago, mainly due to higher R&D and general administrative expenses.

As of September 30, Oklo held a total of $3.13 billion in cash, cash equivalents, and marketable securities, further up from about $3 billion at the end of Q2. Of this, about $1.5 billion were in cash and cash equivalents, and $1.6 billion in marketable securities.

During the first three quarters of this year, the company raised about $2.3 billion through at-the-market (ATM) offerings, providing funding for subsequent nuclear power plant construction, fuel procurement, and related business expansion.

Aurora Plant Enters Main Structure Construction Phase; DOE Approves Preliminary Safety Analysis

A key factor driving market attention is the substantial progress achieved in constructing Oklo’s Aurora nuclear power plant at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL).

Oklo’s management said in Friday’s earnings call that the project has now moved from site preparation and foundation work to the main structure construction phase. As of November 4, the construction site had begun installing vertical steel structures, excavation of the reactor area was complete, and reinforcement work related to safety was underway.

According to the company’s disclosed construction timeline, the project was still mainly in the site and foundation preparation phase in September. By early October, the foundation of the administrative building saw progress, and by early November, construction had started upward on the reactor building. CEO Jacob DeWitte noted that the site was changing visibly, with construction momentum picking up pace.

Besides construction progress, there’s been a key regulatory milestone. The US Department of Energy (DOE) has approved the Aurora project’s Preliminary Documented Safety Analysis (PDSA).

Oklo stated that this approval is an important regulatory review milestone for the project, similar to a critical step in the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) construction permit process. It helps advance safety-related construction and equipment procurement and lowers the risk of major late-stage changes due to safety design adjustments.

However, there remain several steps before the project enters commercial operation, including the final written safety analysis, readiness review, and startup authorization. The company continues to target 2028–2029 for commissioning the Aurora plant in Idaho.

Fuel preparation is advancing in parallel. Oklo is building the Aurora Advanced Fuel Fabrication Facility (A3F) to produce fuel assemblies needed for the first power plant. Installation of facility equipment has begun, with a target to manufacture the first complete fuel assembly by 2027.

Reservation of Manufacturing Capacity for 27 Reactor Modules, Setting the Stage for Future Deployment

Besides constructing its first power station, Oklo also announced on Friday the signing of a strategic manufacturing agreement with U.S. Forged Rings to secure manufacturing capacity for large-scale components needed for future Aurora reactor deployments.

Under the agreement, Oklo will reserve manufacturing capacity at U.S. Forged Rings’ planned industrial site in North Carolina for the equivalent of 27 Aurora reactor modules, spanning potential deployment needs from 2030 to 2035. This capacity includes reactor pressure vessels, head caps, and support structures, with the first finished products expected for delivery in 2030.

This agreement reflects Oklo’s attempt to address supply chain bottlenecks ahead of anticipated scale-up in advanced nuclear power deployment. Manufacturing large nuclear reactor components involves forging, machining, welding, and inspection—processes with long lead times. Reserving capacity in advance helps lay the groundwork for future project expansion.

However, the agreement is mainly a reservation for planned manufacturing capacity; actual procurement will depend on subsequent orders, and deliveries will be subject to the completion and qualification of the manufacturing facility.

On other business fronts, Oklo is also advancing in nuclear fuel recycling and isotope production. The company has disclosed that its Groves-1 isotope test reactor in Texas has largely completed construction, with plans to proceed with the Groves-2 integrated isotope production facility next.

Adequate Capital Reserves, But Commercialization Faces Execution Challenges

Despite construction progress lifting market sentiment, Oklo remains in a phase of heavy capital investment and commercial ramp-up, and has not yet achieved scalable nuclear power operations.

Financial reports show that in the first three quarters of this year, the company recorded $110.9 million in operating cash outflow and $280.9 million in capital expenditure. Oklo expects full-year 2026 operating cash outflow to be $120–150 million, with real estate, plant, and equipment spending estimated at $400–500 million.

The $3.13 billion in cash and securities reserves provide a buffer for concurrent progress on multiple business lines, but the $2.3 billion raised through share issuance in the first three quarters also means dilution risk for existing shareholders cannot be ignored.

For Oklo, the key going forward is whether the ongoing advances in engineering, fuel fabrication, and regulatory approval can be translated into commissioned nuclear assets and sustainable commercial revenue on schedule. With the Aurora project now in the main structure construction phase, the market will increasingly focus on subsequent milestones such as equipment installation, fuel assembly manufacturing, and startup authorization.
