Market Chatter: Microsoft to Conclude Deal With Oracle for Renting AI Compute

MT newswireMT newswire2026/11/06 17:12
01:12 PM EST, 11/06/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Microsoft (MSFT) is concluding a deal to rent AI computing capacity from Oracle (ORCL) as part of a wider reevaluation of its cloud partnership plans, Bloomberg reported Friday, citing sources familiar with the matter. Microsoft has begun winding down its use of rented computing capacity from Oracle after deciding not to renew the contract, as it no longer met Microsoft's specifications while the hardware used older-generation Nvidia (NVDA) chips, according to the report. Microsoft and Oracle did not immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires. (Market Chatter news is derived from conversations with market professionals globally.
