Gildan Activewear Lowers 2026 Revenue Outlook More Than Expected, RBC Says

MT newswireMT newswire2026/11/06 15:40
11:40 AM EST, 11/06/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Gildan Activewear (GIL) cut its 2026 revenue guidance by about $550 million, a larger reduction than forecast as softer demand and reduced retailer restocking weighed on the outlook, RBC Capital Markets said Friday in a report. The company lowered its 2026 revenue outlook to $5.4 billion to $5.5 billion, partly citing an unfavorable price mix, the report said. While the cut was largely expected given pressure on consumer discretionary spending, the magnitude of the reduction was greater than RBC had anticipated. The pressures appear cyclical rather than structural, with weakness concentrated in basic apparel while higher-priced brands continue to post solid performance, RBC said. On Thursday, Gildan reported Q3 results that trailed Wall Street expectations. Analysts polled by FactSet expected 2026 revenue of $5.93 billion. RBC lowered its price target on Gildan stock to $50 from $70 and maintained its outperform rating. Price: 35.19, Change: +0.17, Percent Change: +0.49
