Qatar is expected to become the largest buyer of US liquefied natural gas by 2033. In October, Qatar Energy added another 7 million tons to its US LNG procurement volume. The company holds a 70% stake in the Texas Golden Gate project, and with this project, by 2033 it will be able to control up to 23.7 million tons of US LNG per year. As a major global exporter of liquefied natural gas, Qatar has been continuously advancing its globalization strategy in the energy sector in recent years. By increasing its participation in US LNG projects, it not only further diversifies its own gas supply portfolio and enhances the flexibility of global supply scheduling, but also reflects the ongoing trend of deepening cross-regional trade cooperation in the global LNG market. The long-term binding cooperation between supply and demand sides provides greater support for the stable operation of the global energy market.
