Key takeaways

  • XRP has dropped below $1.30 on Thursday as the bearish trend persists.
  • Long-to-short ratios stand at 0.82, indicating bearish positioning in the tracked data.
  • XRP must reclaim resistance between $1.333 and $1.372 to improve its near-term technical outlook.

XRP struggles after Fed’s cautious hold

XRP remains under pressure on Thursday as bearish derivatives positioning and persistent selling activity limited its recovery prospects.

XRP traded around $1.29, dropping below the closely watched $1.300 support level.  The weakness followed the Federal Reserve’s decision to hold interest rates at 3.75%–4.00%.

Although rates were unchanged, continued inflation concerns and a hawkish undertone weighed on appetite for risk assets.

XRP’s long-to-short ratio at 0.82, approaching its lowest reading in more than a month.

Ratios below one indicate that shorts outweigh longs within the measured dataset, reinforcing the cautious positioning around both tokens.

Funding rates, however, present a different picture for each asset. XRP’s funding rate stood at 0.0036%, remaining positive after turning higher on October 16.

That means longs were paying shorts, suggesting continued demand for leveraged bullish exposure despite the weaker long-to-short ratio.

The divergence leaves XRP’s derivatives signals mixed, but the bears remain in firm control at the moment.

CryptoQuant’s summary indicators show sell-side dominance in both spot and futures markets for XRP.

For XRP, the platform also flags large whale orders and heating market conditions. Large orders alone do not establish whether major holders are buying or selling, but the accompanying selling imbalance reinforces the subdued outlook.

XLM’s spot and futures markets likewise show sellers retaining the advantage, suggesting its recent rebound has yet to attract enough demand to sustain a stronger advance.

XRP could record further losses as it drops below the $1.300 support

The XRP/USD daily chart remains bearish as the token has dropped below the horizontal floor near $1.300.

A daily candle close below that level would weaken the recent trading range and increase the risk of a deeper correction.

The daily Relative Strength Index stands at 40, below the neutral 50 level, indicating that buying momentum remains limited.

The Moving Average Convergence Divergence indicator has improved slightly into positive territory. That offers an early sign of easing bearish momentum, although the price remains below its key moving averages.

XRP’s first upside obstacle is the 100-day Exponential Moving Average near $1.333. Above it, the 50-day EMA at $1.357 and the 200-day EMA at $1.372 form additional resistance.

Reclaiming that cluster would provide stronger evidence that buyers are regaining control. Further barriers sit at $1.540 and $1.900, although both remain distant from the current price.

For now, XRP’s position just above support leaves little room for renewed selling. Holding $1.300 and overcoming nearby moving averages remain the key tests for a more durable recovery.

Just bet on AI and already faced a market blow! Berkshire reports earnings tonight, Abel faces a major test in his transformation

Greg Abel has been leading Berkshire Hathaway for less than a year, yet he has already made a bet of over $10.9 billion on the AI sector, marking a complete break from Buffett’s traditional avoidance of tech stocks. However, Alphabet’s stock price has fallen below their initial purchase cost, and Bending Spoons continues to decline, putting this bold AI gamble to the test. At the same time, third-quarter earnings per share are expected to drop 6% year-over-year, and the share repurchase program is likely to plummet from $4.5 billion to $1.6 billion. How to deploy $358 billion in cash will be a major challenge for the new leader’s capital allocation skills.

Has the AI bubble burst? Goldman Sachs: It's more like 1998 than 2000 right now

The Goldman Sachs trading desk stated that the current wave of sell-offs resembles the 1998 liquidity crisis more than the bursting of the 2000 bubble. It is a forced deleveraging rather than a refutation of business fundamentals. The market is drastically repricing construction financing and timeline expectations, rather than underlying demand. Moreover, the issues currently drawing the most attention from the market—electricity and licensing—are actually the least important, as limited supply does not equate to disappearing demand. The real question that needs to be answered is whether long-term revenues can ultimately justify the capital invested.
