Dark Defender predicts $23 trillion crypto market cap with XRP breakout potential
Dark Defender, widely recognized for his analysis of XRP, has now issued a bold projection covering the entire cryptocurrency sector. In a recent social media post, he shared a three-month chart of the total crypto market capitalization and set a target of $23 trillion. With the overall market currently valued at $2.67 trillion, reaching this goal would require an increase of more than eightfold. The all-time high for the total crypto market cap stands at $4.27 trillion, recorded in July 2025, making this forecast notably ambitious.
Market structure and Elliott Wave outlook
Dark Defender based his analysis on a chart spanning from 2014 to an estimated 2031, applying Elliott Wave theory to map market trends. He identified a large ABC corrective wave pattern that took place between 2018 and 2019. Subsequent waves one and two set the stage for the current phase, which he labeled as Wave 3. This phase, still in progress, is projected by the 161.8% Fibonacci extension to reach $23.26 trillion in total market cap.
He indicated that, following the completion of this wave, a Wave 4 correction would be expected before a final bullish surge, Wave 5, which could potentially drive the total market cap as high as $82.67 trillion based on the 200% Fibonacci extension.
The chart also highlights the relative strength index (RSI), which currently sits near 56.16, and emphasizes key support zones. The existing market cap is holding above the 85.4% Fibonacci retracement level at $1.84 trillion and the 70.2% level at $1.11 trillion, providing what Dark Defender described as a strong technical foundation for further upside.
Dark Defender predicted, “Crypto Total Market Cap is still targeting $23 trillion. Lives are about to change.”
XRP strategy and resistance levels
Regarding XRP specifically, Dark Defender has maintained a bullish perspective. He identified Wave 2 for XRP as a completed ABC running flat structure, describing $1.29 as a crucial support for the continuation of the bullish case. Currently, XRP trades just below this level, at $1.28.
He set the next major resistance zone between $1.44 and $1.56, suggesting that a breakout above $1.56 could quickly push XRP to double-digit prices. The current XRP market cap is $81.51 billion and accounts for 3.08% of the total crypto market capitalization.
Dark Defender pointed to XRP’s chart structure and mentioned that surpassing the current resistance could “send XRP to double digits rapidly.”
Momentum building beyond XRP
Dark Defender has extended his optimism to the broader crypto market, with the XRP logo featured in his total market chart. He indicated that the forthcoming growth in the total market cap could coincide with a new altcoin season, claiming that significant upside may be on the horizon for both XRP and the wider sector.
Given these technical indicators and market milestones, many traders are closely monitoring key signals such as RSI, support and resistance levels, and breakout zones. In rapidly evolving sectors like meme tokens, internet trends have transformed modest investments into substantial gains within days.
