Stabilization in AI-Related Sentiment Lifts Dollar -- Market Talk
Dow Jones2026/10/27 11:361136 GMT - The dollar is finding support from a stabilization in sentiment surrounding artificial intelligence, ING's Francesco Pesole says in a note. This has allowed markets to reconnect with the prospect of further interest-rate rises by the Federal Reserve and higher energy prices, he says. Concerns about debt-funded AI investments had weighed on the dollar last week. Positioning ahead of Wednesday's Fed decision "may also be kicking in with the forward-looking FX market viewing Chairman Kevin Warsh's reiteration of inflation commitments as reinforcing the structural floor for the dollar," Pesole says. "We sympathize with this view and expect a broadly supported dollar this week." The DXY dollar index rises to a 13-day high of 102.289. (renae.dyer@wsj.com)
