08:01 PM EDT, 10/26/2026 (MT Newswires) -- BlackBerry (BB) sees AI-powered robots as a major growth opportunity as it looks to expand QNX beyond the automotive industry, CNBC reported Monday, citing CEO John Giamatteo interview with CNBC's Jim Cramer. Robotics has emerged as one of the fastest-growing businesses within QNX, he said, according to the report. Giamatteo cited three drivers behind the recent rise in the company's QNX royalty backlog, which has topped $1.2 billion: automakers' shift to more advanced computing systems, expanded software offerings and emerging demand for physical AI, the report said. Nvidia has "standardized on QNX as the platform of choice" for its Halos Safety Stack, Giamatteo said, according to the report. He said that has opened a pipeline of opportunities including automated mobile robots and autonomous forklifts.
