Apollo Global Management said it will acquire a stake in Mubadala Capital, the alternative asset management arm of Abu Dhabi's sovereign-wealth fund, Mubadala Investment Company.
Apollo and additional strategic investors would together commit $5 billion to Mubadala Capital as part of the deal, the private-capital giant and Mubadala said. The investment would represent a nearly 10% stake in Mubadala Capital, a person familiar with the matter said.
Mubadala said Apollo's investment will help the firm expand its investor base and pursue new opportunities globally.
CNBC earlier reported that a deal was close.
