MT newswireMT newswire2026/10/26 09:32
05:32 AM EDT, 10/26/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Hutchmed (HCM) and AstraZeneca's (AZN) Orpathys plus Tagrisso reduced the risk of disease progression or death by 44% to 55% compared with Tagrisso alone during a clinical trial of treatment-naive patients with locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer, the company said Monday. The specific indication is for patients with epidermal growth factor receptor-mutated version of the disease and MET over-expression. The drug combination also showed "very encouraging" clinical benefit in the secondary endpoint of overall survival in the trial, increasing it by a median of 9.6 months versus the comparator arm, the company said. Oprathys is being jointly developed by AstraZeneca and HUTCHMED but commercialized by AstraZeneca. Shares of Hutchmed were up more than 4% in recent premarket trading Monday.
