Avalanche posted its fastest average block time on October 23, recording an interval of 911 milliseconds, according to blockchain analytics provider Chainspect. This new record underscores Avalanche’s growing capability to process transactions swiftly as its native token, AVAX, approaches a key technical price checkpoint.
Avalanche block time falls to record low, AVAX faces $8.30 support test
Network milestone: Avalanche reaches sub-second block time
Chainspect reported that Avalanche, a Layer 1 blockchain platform focused on scalable decentralized applications and digital assets, achieved an average block production time of 911 milliseconds on Friday. This is the shortest interval between blocks in the network’s history, taking overall block time below one second for the first time.
Block time refers to the interval between the creation of successive blocks on a blockchain. Shorter block times can improve perceived speed, but they do not solely determine transaction finality or overall experience for network users.
Avalanche’s low-latency network infrastructure is designed to facilitate rapid and cost-effective transactions. The latest milestone is seen as a technical advancement, supporting faster throughput for decentralized finance applications, asset transfers, and other use cases built on the network.
Mini dictionary: Chainspect is a blockchain data analytics platform that provides real-time and historical insights into blockchain networks’ activities, including block times, transaction volumes, and network health metrics.
Even with this achievement, analysts note that rapid block production does not directly translate into higher AVAX prices or immediate increases in adoption, as broader market sentiment and user demand also play significant roles.
AVAX price at critical support amid technical analysis
The network’s speed milestone comes as AVAX, the native token of Avalanche, tests a significant technical level. Market analyst Giannis Andreou identified $8.295 as a key support figure, citing the convergence of a horizontal support area and an ascending trend line on the daily chart.
Andreou offered two potential paths for AVAX, dependent on activity around the support level. If buyers succeed in holding $8.295, the price could rebound to $10, with next resistance targets at $11.432 and possibly $14.934 if upward momentum continues.
| Bounce from support | $8.295 (Support) to $10 (Resistance) | Possible recovery rally |
| Break of resistance | $11.432 and $14.934 (Resistance) | Follow-through higher if sustained |
| Breakdown | Below $8.295, down to $7 (Support) | Increased downside risk |
Should the $8.295 level fail to hold, Andreou indicated that AVAX could fall towards $7 before any potential recovery. He emphasized that both bullish and bearish scenarios depend on confirmation through price action and trading activity.
A daily close above $8.295 could open room for a move to $10 and, subsequently, $11.432. However, a failure to defend the critical support area may result in a retest of the $7 level before a possible rebound.
Andreou cautioned that a brief move above resistance does not guarantee the start of a sustained rally. Similarly, a breakdown below key support could disrupt bullish momentum and increase selling pressure.
While Avalanche’s technical progress enhances its foundational appeal, the short-term direction for AVAX appears closely tied to support and resistance points, network usage growth, and wider crypto market conditions.

Democrats to destroy the data center boom? Goldman Sachs bucks the trend with an upgrade forecast!
Goldman Sachs has raised its forecast for US data center construction spending against the trend, increasing the 2026 projection from $67 billion to $80 billion and, for the first time, projecting $125 billion for 2028. Despite the market panic caused by Texas's moratorium, Goldman Sachs believes this is essentially a delay rather than a termination, and the overall construction cycle remains resilient. However, highly leveraged developers face substantial risks from rising financing costs and contract cancellations.
