Sunrise Realty Trust Stockholders Approve Share Issuance for Southern Realty Merger

04:43 PM EDT, 10/23/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Sunrise Realty Trust (SUNS) said its stockholders approved the issuance of about 8.5 million common shares in connection with the company's planned merger with Southern Realty Trust. Almost 92% of votes cast supported the proposal at a special meeting, while Southern stockholders also approved the merger at a separate meeting, Sunrise said Friday. The deal is expected to close Nov. 5, subject to remaining customary closing conditions, after which Southern will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Sunrise and the combined company will continue trading on Nasdaq under the SUNS ticker.
