AbbVie Receives FDA Approval for Skyrizi Subcutaneous Induction Regimen to Treat Crohn's Disease

04:11 PM EDT, 10/23/2026 (MT Newswires) -- AbbVie (ABBV) said Friday the US Food and Drug Administration approved a subcutaneous induction regimen for Skyrizi for adults with Crohn's disease, a chronic inflammatory bowel disease. In a phase 3 study, Skyrizi achieved superiority of the co-primary endpoints of clinical remission and endoscopic response at week 12. It also met secondary endpoints, including endoscopic remission, the company said. The safety profile of the drug for induction was consistent with its known profile, with no new safety risks observed, according to a statement. The FDA also approved an update to the Skyrizi prescribing information's warning and precautions language, with the revised label advising healthcare providers to consider Tuberculosis assessment before beginning treatment, the company added.
