03:27 PM EDT, 10/23/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Healthcare stocks were lower late Friday afternoon, with the NYSE Healthcare Index dropping 1.4% and the State Street Health Care Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLV) falling 1.2%. The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) decreased 0.9%. In corporate news, Avalo Therapeutics (AVTX) shares fell past 9% after HC Wainwright downgraded the stock to neutral from buy.
