Welspun bags $580 million US gas pipeline order tied to data centre buildout

India’s Welspun Corp (NSE: WGSR) has won an order worth about 55 billion rupees ($580.3 million) through its US subsidiary to supply coated-line pipes for a natural gas pipeline project in the Permian Basin, a key oil-producing field.

The pipeline will serve a data centre complex run by a top-tier hyperscaler, the company said on Friday, without naming the firm.

Data centre operators are increasingly seeking reliable natural gas supplies to power their facilities.

Welspun Corp manufactures large-diameter steel pipes for oil and gas transportation projects and has a presence in more than 50 countries, alongside businesses in building materials, infrastructure and industrial solutions.

The pipes will be produced at its US subsidiary, Welspun Tubular LLC, with deliveries expected during fiscal 2029.

Welspun’s global order book has reached a record $5.25 billion.

Report: DoorDash’s acquisition of Instacart may be finalized as early as Thursday, with a valuation of approximately $17 billion

DoorDash plans to acquire grocery delivery giant Instacart for about 17 billion USD, with the deal expected to be officially announced as early as Thursday. Uber has already withdrawn from the bidding, making DoorDash the sole buyer. If the deal goes through, DoorDash will expand from food delivery into the online grocery delivery sector. However, since the business operations of the two platforms overlap significantly, antitrust scrutiny may become the biggest obstacle.
