October S&P Global US Flash Manufacturing Rises, Services Measures Falls

09:54 AM EDT, 10/23/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The October flash reading of manufacturing conditions from S&P Global rose to 56.0 from 55.9 in September, compared with an expected reading of 55.5 in a survey compiled by Bloomberg, indicating faster expansion to a 53-month high. The increase follows the regional manufacturing sector readings from the New York, Philadelphia and Kansas Federal Reserve banks all of which indicated expansion. The index for services conditions fell to 57.9 in October from 58.8 in September, compared with expectations for a smaller decrease to 58.0.
