Sector Update: Consumer Stocks Decline Pre-Bell Friday

09:11 AM EDT, 10/23/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were declining pre-bell Friday, with the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) down 0.5% and the State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLY) 0.6% lower. Autoliv (ALV) shares were down more than 4% after the company posted lower Q3 adjusted earnings and net sales. Coca-Cola (KO) will retain WPP Open X as its media partner worldwide with the exception of North America, Japan, and South Korea following a global marketing review, the company said. Coca-Cola stock was 0.2% lower premarket. Etsy (ETSY) will ban the sale of AI-generated recipes, craft patterns and other instructional downloads as part of new rules to improve buyer trust and transparency on its marketplace, the company said. Shares of Etsy were down 0.5% pre-bell.
