ORIC to Advance Lung Cancer Drug Candidate to Phase 3 Trial

05:53 AM EDT, 10/23/2026 (MT Newswires) -- ORIC Pharmaceuticals (ORIC) plans to advance its lung cancer drug candidate, enozertinib, into a global Phase 3 trial in the first half of 2027, the company said Friday. In a Phase 1b trial involving patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer with atypical EGFR mutations, enozertinib showed a confirmed objective response rate of 84% among 25 evaluable patients, with tumor reductions across all response-evaluable patients. Independent review confirmed an 80% response rate, it added. The company aims to enroll around 360 patients in the late-stage trial, ORIC said. Participants will receive either enozertinib or a physician's choice of osimertinib or afatinib, with tumor response and progression-free survival among the trial's primary endpoints, the company said.
