Veracyte Says Data From Decipher Test Predicts Abiraterone Benefit in Prostate Cancer

04:53 AM EDT, 10/23/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Veracyte (VCYT) said Friday that data from a phase 3 trial show its Decipher Prostate test can identify which men with very high-risk prostate cancer benefit from adding abiraterone to hormone therapy. A retrospective look at 401 patients found those with high Decipher scores gained a 10% reduction in distant cancer spread at five years from adding the drug, and 11% for very high scores, against 2% for lower scores, the company said. The link between score and treatment benefit was statistically significant for patients whose cancer had not reached the lymph nodes, and abiraterone improves outcomes but brings added side effects, Veracyte said. Findings will be presented at the European Society for Medical Oncology congress, it said.
