02:03 PM EDT, 10/22/2026 (MT Newswires) -- PG&E (PCG) is considering a regulatory-approved spin-off, sale, or other separation of its gas business to lower borrowing costs for customers if wildfire-related risks are not addressed through policy reform, Chief Executive Officer Patti Poppe said Thursday on a call with investors. Poppe said the company's 4 million gas customers are paying sub-investment-grade borrowing costs because the gas business is part of the holding company, which is exposed to wildfire risk, according to a FactSet transcript. Shares of the company were down 3.1% in Thursday afternoon trading. Price: 12.75, Change: -0.41, Percent Change: -3.08
