11:07 AM EDT, 10/22/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Micron Technology's (MU) long-term plans for memory used in AI systems reinforce its competitive position, while investor concerns about Chinese development of an alternative design appear overstated, RBC Capital Markets said Wednesday in a report. The company is developing memory that sits directly on top of AI processors, a design that may increase memory content per system and further tighten industry supply, RBC said. Micron expects to begin production of its next generation of flash memory in H2 2027, featuring more than 400 layers and roughly double the storage density of its current technology, the report said. At a technology webinar led by Chief Technology Officer Scott DeBoer, Micron said it has abandoned the 4F memory-cell design after studying the approach for more than two decades, the report said. RBC maintained its outperform rating on Micron stock and its $1,500 price target. Price: 874.64, Change: -39.03, Percent Change: -4.27
