BlackSky Technology Wins Expanded Defense Contract as Customer Doubles Subscription

09:19 AM EDT, 10/22/2026 (MT Newswires) -- BlackSky Technology (BKSY) secured an expanded seven-figure Gen-3 Assured contract with an international defense customer, doubling the customer's subscription in under six months, the company said Thursday. The agreement combines Gen-2's high-frequency revisits with Gen-3's 35-centimeter imagery resolution to support persistent monitoring and situational awareness, the company said. BlackSky added that the contract grew from a small Gen-2 pilot into a large annual Gen-3 subscription, supporting border monitoring, counter-drone operations and force protection. BlackSky Technology shares were down 3.7% in premarket activity.
