United Microelectronics, AP Memory Partner on AI Data Center Power Solutions

04:05 AM EDT, 10/22/2026 (MT Newswires) -- United Microelectronics (UMC) and AP Memory said Thursday they are working together to develop silicon capacitors and manufacturing technology to improve power delivery in AI and high-performance computing systems. The companies said they are developing capacitors that can be built directly into chip packages instead of being placed on circuit boards, helping improve power efficiency and voltage stability. AP Memory completed initial designs and functional testing of its S-SiCap Gen2D discrete silicon capacitors, the companies said, adding they will now conduct further performance and reliability tests.
