Parsons Receives Federal Approval for PFAS Soil Cleanup Technology

07:16 AM EDT, 10/21/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Parsons (PSN) received approval from the US Department of Defense's Environmental Security Technology Certification Program and Defense Innovation Unit for its technology to remove per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS, from contaminated soil, the company said Wednesday. The approval allows federal agencies to pursue follow-on contracts for Parsons' patented thermal conduction heating technology without further competition, following the successful on-site removal of PFAS from contaminated soil to below laboratory reporting limits, the company said. The on-site process eliminates the need to transport and dispose of large amounts of contaminated soil off-site, reducing cleanup time, environmental impacts and liability risks, Parsons said.
