Summit Therapeutics to Collaborate With ECOG-ACRIN Cancer Research Group to Test Bile Duct Cancer Drug

06:40 AM EDT, 10/21/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Summit Therapeutics Inc (SMMT) will collaborate with the ECOG-ACRIN Cancer Research Group on a phase 2/3 trial evaluating its experimental drug, ivonescimab, in patients with advanced biliary tract cancer, the company said on Wednesday. The study will compare ivonescimab combined with gemcitabine and cisplatin chemotherapy against pembrolizumab or durvalumab combined with the same chemotherapy in patients receiving first-line treatment, it added. The primary goal is to compare overall survival, the company said, adding that the trial sites are expected to begin opening in Q4.
