Sector Update: Healthcare

03:25 PM EDT, 10/20/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Healthcare stocks were higher late Tuesday afternoon, with the NYSE Healthcare Index rising 2.1% and the State Street Health Care Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLV) adding 2%. The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) advanced 3%. In corporate news, Amgen (AMGN) and AstraZeneca (AZN) said Tuesday that Tezspire showed "statistically significant and clinically meaningful" improvements in people with symptomatic and uncontrolled eosinophilic esophagitis, according to results from a phase 3 trial. Amgen shares rose 2.5%, and AstraZeneca climbed 2.8%.
