Amazon's AWS Launches TorchNeuron to Run PyTorch Code on Trainium AI Chips

01:47 PM EDT, 10/20/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon.com's (AMZN) Amazon Web Services launched TorchNeuron, an open-source tool that allows developers to run existing PyTorch code on its Trainium AI chips with minimal code changes, the company said Tuesday. TorchNeuron entered public beta and is available under the Apache 2.0 license. The company said the tool was developed in collaboration with Meta's PyTorch team, while its work with Hugging Face enables native Trainium support across libraries including Transformers, Diffusers, PEFT and TRL. Speech technology company Deepgram processed about 60% more audio per dollar on Trainium than on its existing graphics processing unit setup in benchmarks it evaluated, according to an AWS blog post.
