Redbook US Same-Store Sales Rise in Week Ended Oct. 17

08:55 AM EDT, 10/20/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Redbook US same-store sales rose by 9.0% from a year earlier in the week ended Oct. 17 after a 10.4% year-over-year increase in the previous week as consumers were more cautious about their budgets and sought out deals. Redbook noted that Halloween-related purchases have gained momentum after the Columbus Day weekend. "To help shoppers planning Thanksgiving meals and who are concerned about prices, stores and online retailers are starting to compete with special Thanksgiving meal packages," Redbook said. Through the second selling week for October, sales were up 9.7% compared with October 2025, above the target for a 9.5% gain, Redbook said.
