According to data from the Japan Securities Dealers Association, Japanese investors’ purchases of domestic government bonds reached a 17-year high in the first half of the current fiscal year. In the six months ending September 30, the net purchase amount totaled 18.8 trillion yen (approximately 119 billion US dollars).
