Fortrea Acquires Early Phase Services Division of Worldwide Clinical Trials for $45 Million

06:02 PM EDT, 10/19/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Fortrea (FTRE) said late Monday it has acquired the Early Phase Services division of Worldwide Clinical Trials, including its Clinical Research Unit and Bioanalytical Laboratory operations, in an all-cash transaction worth approximately $45 million. The acquisition adds to Fortrea's portfolio a 200-bed Good Clinical Practice-compliant clinical research unit in San Antonio, a 60,000-square-foot Good Laboratory Practice-compliant bioanalytical laboratory in Austin, and a biospecimen storage facility in Pflugerville, Texas, the company said. These assets expand Fortrea's early-phase capacity to more than 570 beds worldwide and add in-house large and small molecule bioanalytical capabilities, supporting clients from first-in-human studies through proof-of-concept and later-stage development, the company added. The acquired Early Phase Services operations are now part of Fortrea's Clinical Pharmacology Services business unit.
