GoldCoast Resources Says Ghanian Offshore Licenses Have Not Been Suspended

04:14 PM EDT, 10/19/2026 (MT Newswires) -- GoldCoast Resource (GCR.CN) said Monday afternoon that the Ghanian government has confirmed that its offshore reconnaissance licenses have not been suspended and will be issuing a letter to that effect. The company last week said it was awaiting clarification from the government on the status of the 10 licenses, which had been issued on Oct. 8. However, on Oct. 9, GoldCoast became aware that an official letter was issued to the National Fisheries Association stating that its offshore licences had been suspended. The company did not receive the Oct. 9 letter. "We appreciate the prompt engagement of the Government authorities in addressing this matter," said GoldCoast Chairman Sam Jonah. "Our licences are in good standing, and we welcome the Government's commitment to correct the public record." GoldCoast shares last traded on Oct. 13, closing at CA$0.45 on the Canadian Securities Exchange.
