09:51 AM EDT, 10/19/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Oil prices fell Monday morning after US President Donald Trump last week signed an executive order pausing new sanctions against Russia for 60 days. The relief comes days after the White House struck a deal with the Kremlin to supply the US with diesel. Trump framed the waiver as necessary to keep Russia at the negotiating table, several media outlets reported. The UK Maritime Trade Operations also reported an attack over the weekend involving a tugboat that was struck by two "projectiles" off the UAE coast. West Texas Intermediate November crude oil futures, the US benchmark, fell 1.1% to $100.26 per barrel. December Brent oil futures, the international benchmark, fell 2% to $107.76 a barrel. Comex gold December futures edged down 0.3%, to to $4,179.90 per ounce. In agricultural commodities, December wheat futures fell 0.3% to $6.58 per bushel, while canola futures for January fell 1.3% to CA$801.50 per tonne.
