Cytokinetics Wins Health Canada Approval for Myqorzo Heart Drug

08:34 AM EDT, 10/19/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Cytokinetics (CYTK) said Monday that Health Canada approved Myqorzo, or aficamten, to treat adults with symptomatic obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy classified as New York Heart Association Class II-III. The once-daily oral drug is designed to reduce excessive heart muscle contraction and obstruction of blood flow from the heart, the company said. The approval was supported by phase 3 SEQUOIA-HCM trial results, which showed improved exercise capacity after 24 weeks, the company added.
