EyePoint's Duravyu Misses Primary Endpoint in Second Phase 3 Wet AMD Trial; Shares Fall Pre-Bell

07:57 AM EDT, 10/19/2026 (MT Newswires) -- EyePoint's (EYPT) Duravyu failed to meet the primary non-inferiority endpoint for visual acuity versus aflibercept in the phase 3 LUCIA trial for wet age-related macular degeneration, despite showing visual improvement, the company said Monday. The trial showed a 38% reduction in treatment burden, with 52% of eyes requiring no supplemental injections through Week 56, alongside strong anatomic control and a favorable safety profile, the company said. LUCIA follows similar results in LUGANO, which also missed its primary endpoint but reduced treatment burden by 42%. EyePoint will analyze the LUCIA and pooled Phase 3 data to determine the next steps for Duravyu in wet AMD. The company's phase 3 diabetic macular edema trials, COMO and CAPRI, remain on track, with topline results expected in Q4 2027. EyePoint shares were down 74% in premarket activity.
