METiS TechBio, Eli Lilly Sign AI-Driven Drug-Delivery Deal With Up to $1.1 Billion in Milestones

07:16 AM EDT, 10/19/2026 (MT Newswires) -- METiS TechBio said Monday it has entered a strategic collaboration with Eli Lilly (LLY) to discover new lipid nanoparticle delivery technologies designed to deliver treatments to specific tissues. The company said it will use its AI-driven AiLNP platform to design and optimize lipids for drug delivery, while Lilly will contribute its expertise in drug discovery, development and commercialization. Under the agreement, METiS said it is eligible to receive an upfront payment in the low tens of millions of dollars and up to about $1.1 billion in development, regulatory and commercial milestone payments. It will also receive tiered royalties in the single-digit percentage range on annual net sales of products developed through the collaboration, it added.
