Gas pipeline explosion and fire in northeastern Syria, the fourth incident in several weeks

According to a statement from the Syrian National Petroleum Company, at 17:15 local time, an explosion occurred on a segment of the Jibaysa natural gas export pipeline located in the Al-Arabid region in the south of Hasakah Province. The explosion site is approximately 60 kilometers from the city of Shaddadi. The statement did not mention the cause of the explosion. After the incident, technicians closed the relevant valves at the Jibaysa natural gas processing plant and the Deir ez-Zor gas station to isolate the damaged pipeline segment.
