Zcash’s NU7 mainnet decision is scheduled for October 20, arriving as market attention fades.
Zcash price prediction just got trickier. ZEC surged roughly 48% between September 15 and September 26, then surrendered nearly all those gains by October 14. Now, with the NU7 upgrade’s mainnet decision scheduled for October 20, attention has faded just as the next catalyst approaches.
ZEC’s Rally Lost Steam After September
ZEC’s daily closing price peaked at $1,650 on September 26. By October 14, it had fallen around 30% from that high, closing at $1,145 only about 3% above its September 15 starting point.
That’s a dramatic round trip. The rally looked impressive on the way up, but the latest figures show how little of that move remained. Anyone treating the September surge as a durable breakout has a tougher chart to defend now.
Open Interest and Social Buzz Peaked Earlier
In other words, leverage and online attention peaked before the market did. ZEC continued climbing even as both measures had moved past their highs. By October 14, open interest was 2.5% below its September 15 level, while social volume had dropped to just 50 mentions, the quietest reading since September 2.
NU7 Decision Arrives as Attention Fades
The upcoming Zcash NU7 mainnet decision is now the next date to watch. It lands on October 20, with social volume at its lowest point since early September.
That doesn’t automatically mean a rebound is coming. Nor does weak attention prove another decline is inevitable. The immediate question is whether the upgrade decision changes market interest after ZEC gave back almost the entire rally.
For now, the Zcash price prediction hinges on whether the NU7 decision can revive attention and price momentum or whether September’s surge remains a short-lived move that failed to hold.
