CoreWeave Bonds Extend Slide -- WSJ
Dow Jones2026/10/15 16:28By Sam Goldfarb
Prices of CoreWeave bonds are bouncing back, suggesting that some investors see a buying opportunity following a steep slide that had extended into early trading on Thursday.
CoreWeave's 9.625% notes due in 2032 recently changed hands at almost 81 cents on the dollar, up from 76 cents at one point earlier in the session, according to MarketAxess. The bonds are still offering a yield of around 14.6%, almost 10 percentage points above the comparable U.S. Treasury yield.
CoreWeave's bonds had been taking a beating all week. On Wednesday, the pain spread to its shares, which fell 15%, contributing to a broader downturn in technology stocks. Its shares are currently down about 3%.
A former crypto-mining company, CoreWeave has borrowed heavily to become a major AI cloud-computing provider, leasing out vast clusters of advanced computer chips needed to power applications such as OpenAI's ChatGPT. That has raised questions about its ability to cope with higher borrowing costs, as the Federal Reserve has started raising interest rates to fight inflation.
