12:24 PM EDT, 10/15/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Canada's latest five-year bond auction Thursday drew CA$14.65 billion in investor bids for CA$5 billion in bonds on offer, meaning demand was nearly three times the amount available, according to data on the Bank of Canada website. The Government of Canada (GoC) bonds had a bid-to-cover ratio of 2.93 and were awarded at an average yield of 3.574%, said the BoC. International investors took the majority of the bonds, receiving 69.13% of the allocation versus 30.87% for Canadian buyers. Customers received 81.23% of the total, while distributors accounted for the remaining 18.77%. The BoC didn't buy any of the GoC bonds, which expire on March 1, 2032.
