Bharti Hexacom Set to Benefit From Possible Tariff Hikes in Telecom Industry -- Market Talk

Dow JonesDow Jones2026/10/15 06:16

0616 GMT - Bharti Hexacom stands to benefit from possible tariff hikes in India's telecom industry, which might occur sometime in November-December, Nomura analysts say in a research report. It's one of two players in India's least-penetrated telecom markets--Rajasthan and the North-East--so absence of a third one gives it stronger ability to raise tariffs without risking price competition, the analysts say. The wireless operator probably warrants a premium valuation versus peers given factors such as it's a pure mobility play on possible tariff hikes. Nomura initiates coverage of the stock with a buy rating and a target price of 1,870.00 rupees. Shares are 2.5% higher at 1,613.50 rupees. (ronnie.harui@wsj.com)
