Apple Reportedly Seeks to Overturn $5.7 Billion Taction Technology Verdict

MT newswireMT newswire2026/10/14 18:12
02:12 PM EDT, 10/14/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Apple (AAPL) is seeking to overturn a $5.7 billion patent infringement verdict in a lawsuit brought by Taction Technology over haptic-feedback technology used to create vibration responses in iPhones and Apple Watches, media outlets reported Tuesday. In its latest filing, Apple argued that the verdict was based on "guesswork" because Taction failed to provide sufficient evidence to establish the value of its patented technology, the reports said. In September, a US jury agreed that Apple had infringed two Taction patents and failed to prove that Taction's claims were invalid. Apple and Taction didn't immediately reply to requests for comment from MT Newswires. Price: 342.28, Change: +1.01, Percent Change: +0.30
