0451 ET - Whether European consumer goods companies can win the U.S. customer has become a central key investment debate for the sector, analysts at Barclays say in a note. U.S. consumers are becoming increasingly important for the industry--whether it be Danone's U.S. essential-dairy and plant-based recovery or Haleon's and Reckitt's cold and flu products. The ever-more demanding environment of the U.S. means that investment debates are increasingly focused on the country, the analysts say. (aimee.look@wsj.com)
0159 ET - Cochlear's scale, established clinic relationships and large recipient base should limit any near-term disruption from the launch of a new sound processor by hearing-implant rival Advanced Bionics, Jefferies analyst David Stanton says. Stanton writes in a note that the Integro CI sound processor from Sonova-owned Advanced Bionics could modestly constrain Australia-listed Cochlear's share of processor upgrades and new system wins in selected European markets. Ultimately, he sees Integro as a product that could support gradual market-share stabilization or gains for Sonova, rather than rapid losses for Cochlear. Jefferies has a hold rating on Cochlear shares and a target price of 144.75 Australian dollars. Shares closed 0.2% lower at A$129.28. (stuart.condie@wsj.com)
2010 ET - EBR Systems' bull at Bell Potter thinks the wireless pacemaker developer will need to raise more capital than previously envisioned. Analyst Martyn Jacobs had already anticipated a capital raise in mid-2027, but tells clients in a note that disappointing sales suggest the company will need additional equity after that. He lowers his fiscal 2026 sales forecast by 21% to US$10.8 million, and cuts volume expectations through his forecast period. Bell Potter keeps a speculative buy rating on the stock but slashes its target price by 71% to 0.20 Australian dollars. Shares are up 3.2% at A$0.16. (stuart.condie@wsj.com)
