Verastem Cancer Drug Shows Responses in Pancreatic, Lung, and Colorectal Cancers

MT newswireMT newswire2026/10/14 10:58
06:58 AM EDT, 10/14/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Verastem Oncology (VSTM) said Wednesday that early data from its trial of VS-7375, a drug targeting KRAS G12D mutations, showed a 50% confirmed response rate in second-line pancreatic cancer and 43% in later-line lung cancer. In the second-line-or-later pancreatic group of 22 patients, 41% responded to the 900-milligram once-daily treatment, and 36% responded in third- and fourth-line disease, with 67% of patients still progression-free at six months, the company said. Verastem said VS-7375, given at 600 milligrams daily, achieved a 43% confirmed response rate among 23 patients with second-line-or-later non-small cell lung cancer. Two complete responses were seen in the pancreatic group, and 33% of patients responded in a small later-line colorectal group treated with the drug combined with anti-EGFR, Verastem Oncology said. The company said the drug showed a manageable safety profile, with adverse events leading to treatment discontinuation in 2% of patients receiving the 900-milligram monotherapy dose. Verastem Oncology agreed with the US Food and Drug Administration on a phase 3 trial design in first-line metastatic pancreatic cancer and plans to open the study by year-end, it added. Shares of the company were up 17.3% in Wednesday premarket activity.
