Geopolitics and AI Driving Markets -- Market Talk
Dow Jones2026/10/14 06:010601 GMT - Geopolitics and AI remain the main drivers of the market, Jefferies' Mohit Kumar says in a note. There seems to be little progress on the geopolitical front, with a deal between the U.S. and Iran looking less likely before the U.S. midterm elections, the global economist says. "We have been in the optimistic camp, but have to admit that chances of even a fudge look low," he says. Jefferies sees a risk that U.S. President Trump launches another bombing campaign after the mid-terms, with the potential for another round of escalation, Kumar says. (emese.bartha@wsj.com)
